In order for us to remain online we accept advertising to pay our bills. We are committed to ensuring that you receive satisfaction from our advertisers that we back up our advertisers with our own Advertising Guarantee to you.
Since we first offered this basic guarantee on Web Host Weekly in 1998, we have made it our business to provide you with fair and objective information you can trust. Our business is based on trust. How much credibility would we have if we did not do the same for the advertising on our site?
Our editorial staff has been actively involved in conducting independent reviews of Hosting industry companies since the mid-90's and we know what kind of company provides solid service and support as well as a real value. We've purchased and hosted hundreds of domains during that time from many companies in the Hosting communities. And, because its our full time job, we stay in touch with what's going on out there.
We talk with developers and purchasers all the time that ask us for advice on choosing a good Hosting company. They'd like to find a company that will actually do what they say on their site. You know, actually follow through on their promises.
You'd think it would be easy to do. After all, there are truth in advertising laws that are designed to protect the consumer from unscrupulous advertisers.
But horror stories abound in this industry. We've read hundreds of email complaints from developers and others about companies in our industry that do not honor their advertising. People that frequent the forums and discussion groups know that one of the complaints often raised is concerns about awards and positive reviews given in exchange for ad money. And compounding this problem over the past year or so, we've seen many new sites crop up that seemingly get started just to collect advertising money from Hosting companies. The end result is, more and more developers just don't trust the advertising.
Caveat Emptor? Really? Not Here! We think the consumer should feel comfortable clicking on advertising around this site. We believe the customer should be confident that our advertisers will provide what they advertise, and back up their products with full support. That's why we created our Advertising Guarantee for you.

We created our Advertising Guarantee to give you confidence in our advertisers. We want you to know that when you click on an ad on this Web site, you can have confidence knowing that the products and services are provided by a quality company that will back up the products and services they advertise. You can trust our advertisers.

Advertisers cannot purchase our trust and we do not accept all advertisers that want to advertise on our site. We only accept advertising from proven companies that can back up their products.
We do not receive any pay-off money from advertisers to consider them for advertising here and we have dropped advertisers that have been less than trustworthy in backing up their advertised products. We care that YOU receive the benefit from their advertising, and like our reviews, some advertisers will never pass our own staff review of their products and services (see below), and therefore will not be eligible to advertise with us.
All of our advertisers have passed our advertising review so you know they can also be trusted. WE trust them and our reputation is important to us.
We Screen Each Advertiser to Ensure the Following:
- All advertisers at Web Host Magazine & Buyer's Guide provide true and honest information in their ads. All plans, services, special offers, and any other offers and promises advertised on Web Host Magazine & Buyer's Guide are fully supported by the advertiser.
- Each company that advertises with Web Host Magazine & Buyer's Guide must first pass our staff approval, and meet the following criteria:
- Solid Service
Each advertiser must provide solid service. They must care about their customer. They must be ready to go the extra mile to ensure the customer is happy.- Solid Support
Each advertiser must support their customers. They don't just give them lip service after they've collected your money.- Solid Value
Each advertiser must provide real value for the money. Value includes not only good pricing but many intangibles that make that company better than the rest.
We do not allow any advertisements from companies that cannot live up to our standards, and we will stand behind any customer that purchases a product from one of our advertisers when they click on the ads on our site.

Disputes
As stated above, it is only fair to both parties that consumers and the advertisers first try and resolve disputes and issues on their own before we get involved. Our involvement is not legally binding in anyway. We serve as an ombudsman only. All disputes can be directed to us at editor@WebHostMagazine.com. Include all details concerning the dispute, including contact information for you and the advertisers, along with any and all details concerning the products and services you purchased.
Payola, Payoffs, and Bribes
We have had our share of Web Host companies try to buy their way into a review. Or companies that tried to bribe us with a big advertising campaign to get an Editors' Choice Award or high review score. Since we began this basic guarantee on Web Host Weekly in 1998, our policy has been to ban that company from our site. We figure they don't deserve to be side by side with honest Web Host companies. We have lost quite a few advertisers that way and along with them, many thousands of dollars in ad revenue. Our word is our bond. We strive for honesty and truth in all our dealings because at our core we are here to make sure you are steered in the right direction and are given the proper preparation for making an intelligent hosting choice. You can't put a price on integrity. Once you lose your integrity you can not buy it back.
Note: Our Web Host Magazine & Buyer's Guide Advertising Guarantee says that trust works both ways. When you purchase products and services from one of our advertisers, you are entering a contract with them to comply with any Terms and Conditions that apply to the products and services you purchase. We will not intervene on your behalf if it is evident that you did not comply with the Advertiser's Terms and Conditions. When you purchase a product directly from any advertiser listed on our website you are responsible for your purchase and agree to indemnify Red-Orange Incorporated and any properties persons associated with Red-Orange Incorporated, including Web Host Magazine & Buyer's Guide, against any losses that may occur by either party for any reason concerning our Advertising Guarantee. We have no control over the personal or the business practices of consumers, clients or our advertisers. All companies, consumers and clients are subject to change at anytime and we have no control over that process. However, we continually monitor all advertisers on our site to ensure the information is accurate. We reserve the right to make changes and amendments to this guarantee as needed. If you find something that isn't accurate, please contact us.
About Advertising With Us:
1. All who advertise on this site must read and understand our Advertiser Guarantee before advertising with us. We ask that you represent your products honestly and that you treat your customers fairly.
2. Billing is through our parent company, Red Orange Incorporated.
3. Creatives for banners and showcases should be emailed to us at staff@WebHostMagazine.Com.
4. All banner ads must be either .jpg or animated .gif files, displayed from our server (i.e. we do not accept third party ad serves or banners that reside on a third party server and get displayed on our site by mean of a URL)
5. Banners are sold by impressions using the CPM (cost per thousand impressions) model. That means that each banner will receive at least the number of impressions you purchased for that banner. When a multi-month ad campaign is purchased, banners will receive at least the cumulative number of impressions purchased over the entire ad campaign. Our policy is to provide extra impressions free of charge beyond the cumulative total of banner impressions you have purchased based, on our inventory.
6. You may rotate up to two ad banners in the following ad positions: Top Margin, Right Margin Top, Skyscraper, and Bottom Margin. It does not apply to any other ad position, including showcases or text ads.
7. There is no way anyone can guarantee advertising results. We can provide targeted traffic but advertising success is more dependent on your graphics, your message and your landing page than anything else. Some advertisers will have better results than others. We will not provide refunds for advertising already paid for.
8. We reserve the right to change descriptions, specifications or advertising rates at any time. However, we will not apply changes to any current ad campaign.
9. Banners must be family friendly and must be approved before they go online.
