Below is our review for Pegasus Web Technology. It is based on our ten plus years of experience reviewing Web Hosts and Host Finders. That's right. The absolute BEST way to review Web Host services is by actually using those services and comparing them to other Web Host services that have been similarly tested with the same testing criteria. We do these tests using an anonymous account so the Web Hosts will not treat us any differently than any other customer. Our process is expensive, but it is what we do because we want to be the best, and we want you to have the best information possible.

Here's a Tip for you: We have never accepted money to give a company a better rating. Our reputation is more important than that. However, even though the vast majority of the "top 10" review type sites you see in the search engines appear to be genuine, they actually base their lists of "Top Hosting Companies" on the affiliate rates (or other advertising revenue) they receive from the companies they list. The Web Hosts they list may be good but the rating method used is faulty. In our opinion, you should NEVER trust those types of review and rating sites.

Overview: Pegasus Web Technologies offers good Web Host packages in both Unix and NT. Database and E-commerce packages are available and both give the right amount of features coupled with the right Web space and bandwidth. Pegasus offers support by email, chat, or the use of their toll free phone number.

When last we reviewed Pegasus Web Technologies (March of 2005) our Independent Review Panel was happy with all they had to offer, beside the amounts of highter than average downtimes as seen in the year 2006. They are off to a better start this year but remains to be see if they can keep it up. Hard drive space still lower than average.

Pegasus provides virtual hosting plans in both Unix and NT. Where many Hosts charge extra for comparable NT plans, Pegasus offers the same type of hosting solutions at the same prices across the board. Pegasus also offers E-Commerce and dedicated server packages to round out their Host solutions. Every plan Pegasus sells is fully featured with plenty of bandwidth. We believe that more Web space could be offered with the virtual hosting plans, but, value wise, the amount of features offered evens this out.

At our last review, Pegasus was hailed by both online forums and our reviewers as having excellent support. Emails were answered promptly and courteously and Pegasus offers 24/7 toll-free phone support. However their downtimes (see their Uptime Report by clicking the link in the Review Score box on this page) and reports of lackluster support have caused them to drop in the eyes of many, as well as in their review score here.

Verdict:
Due to their downtimes, Pegasus has come down a notch or two since our last review. Judging from the people that have contacted us, and from the forums, the downtimes have caused their customers a number of problems and is something unusual for Pegasus.

Pros:

I am a hosting reseller and I do not know if this company has a problem with us but one thing I know is that we are paying good money to them.
I really have a very terrible experienced with them, since they always do server troubleshooting without notice and the only thing that you will realize is that all your customers are mad on your service, since the server is down and take note not for a short time.
