Below is our review for ServePath. It is
based on our ten plus years of experience reviewing Web Hosts and Host
Finders. It is based on our
proven test procedures,
and on our
reader's reviews. This review is also based on the feedback we get
from our reader's comments, and emails as well as from the our
interaction with the business and Web developer/design communities in
the numerous online forums. Much of this review was conducted by a
non-paid independent panel of experienced Web developers that are very
good at what they do. We know that all of that combined makes our review
process different from anyone else's in this industry, but to top it off
it is important for you to know that unlike other review sites, we
Purchase the Web Hosting services we review. That's right. The
absolute BEST way to review Web Host services is by actually using those
services and comparing them to other Web Host services that have been
similarly tested with the same testing criteria. We do these tests
using an anonymous account so the Web Hosts will not treat us any
differently than any other customer. Our process is expensive, but it is
what we do because we want to be the best, and we want you to have the
best information possible.
Whether you agree with this review or not, if you have some experience
with ServePath please let us know what your thoughts
are in the comments below, and by doing your own
your own review of ServePath.

Here's a Tip for you: We have never accepted money to give a
company a better rating. Our reputation is more important than that.
However, even though the vast majority of the "top
10" review type sites you see in the search engines appear to be genuine, they
actually base their lists of "Top Hosting Companies" on the affiliate
rates (or other advertising revenue) they
receive from the companies they list. The Web Hosts they list may be
good but the rating method used is faulty.
In our opinion, you should NEVER trust those types of review and rating
sites.

Editor's Note: ServePath started operating Jan 2001, based in San Francisco's Telecom building. Primary Hosting they offer is Unix, Linux, Windows hosting, Dedicated, Managed, and lastly do offer Colocation with their other company ColoServe. ServePath owns their own company and have no investors, and boast that they are debt free. Like all high end Web Hosts, they offer load balancing, custom servers, multiple accounts, firewall, backup systems, spam and virus filtering for an added price.

Overview:
ServePath does have an extremely fast network and it is all based on location, the heart of silicon valley where most of the world internet traffic begins or terminates. Their network backbone is quite impressive, they utilize some of the best fiber optic technology, use quality equipment, and have had 100% connectivity in the last four months.
ServePath Network Operation Centers is located right in the middle of their data center floor, and is staffed 24/7/365. Their system includes real-time monitoring and alerts, application monitoring, ultra secure building to ensure security in times of earthquakes, fire's, etc. Their building also contains state of the art redundant power systems with 2 on site generators provide power for several days, and have multiple partners for redundant network capacity and stability.
ServePath's plans are Basic, Business, Advanced, and Ultra. The "BasicPath," starts at $99 dollars a month with $189.00 setup fee; or 83.99 a month if paid yearly. Their, “BasicPath,” plan comes with 500gb month transfer, a Intel Celeron 1.2-2.0 GHz processor, 256mb of memory and a 40gb hard drive. Your choice of operating system Unix, Linux or Windows. Your choice of control panel Plesk, Ensim, or CPanel (will cost extra for Ensim or CPanel). Whereas their high end, “UltraPath,” plan comes with Intel Dual Xeon 2.4-3.0 GHz processor, 3gb memory, 5 x 36 GB SCSI raid hard drives, 3000Gb transfer, choice of operating system, control panel, and software. For the price tag of $599.99 a month with a $799.99 setup fee, or 499.99 a month for year contract with no setup fee. ServePath does offer a lot of different add-ons and upgrades. Listed here is not the end all be all of their options.
Our Independent Review Panel, noticed that ServePath does a pretty good job in terms of customer service, but in a very competive market you have to go above and beyond that. Yes, Servepath does provide good service, and yes, Servepath is affordable but they lack the, "extra-mile," bottom line of the higher tier Web Host companies.
Verdict:
There is no doubt that ServePath is a good solution for Hosting. They offer decent pricing, strong network, and speed. However their service even though it is not bad at all, is not the greatest in the industry. With the fever pitched competition that comes from Web Hosting services, most buyers will pay more for better service.
Pros:
Cost effective compared with peers • A variety of different options
Cons:
Good customer support, could be better

Comments From Customers & Forums:
WebHostingTalk
From sailor
"take a look at www.servepath.com - I visited them and know the management and they are good group of guys. Their data center is very nice.
WebHostingTalk
From Venus3 "I considered Servepath but ultimately chose a different Data Center. First, their response time to sales emails was somewhat slow (which made me wonder how fast they'll respond to tech support questions). Secondly, their servers aren't managed (which might be fine with you but that was something I was looking for). Third, if you do a search here on WHT you'll find some information about them being blacklisted in spammer databases. Which means, you could end up with an IP address that is blocked. Not good.
